I have a 2009 Altima 3.5 with a Pioneer 930bt. I have a secondary battery in the back as well. A little over a month ago I put in 2 12" W7s with a Logic TX4000D amp (4000 peak 2000 rms at 1 ohm stable). Basically the subs are wired outside the box in parallel giving me 1.5 ohms. I had the gain and input up 3/4 way and everything else turned down. Its been playing GREAT for the past month and just recently its been cutting out at high bass. At times even at low bass it clips. The amp turns completely off and doesnt turn back on until after 10 minutes or so. I turned the amp down to half way and it still did the same (high bass and sometimes at low bass). When the amp cuts off the power on the amp read .2v. I dont know if this helps. You think my amp is bad? thank you

I would check your fuses first and make sure ground is tight.  (don't just look at the fuse, use a meter, many fuses look good but don't allow much power thru)

i checked the fuses on the amp itself with a power probe ... they are all fine ...

Cutting out is not the same as clipping.  How did you set the gain?  When it cuts out what is the system voltage?

the voltage of the power wire say .2 to .3 .. the gain was 3/4 way i set it to half and its still doing the same

IF you dont have 12 volts on your power wire then you have a bad connection on your power wire. The amp wont make power go away on your power cable. Check your connections at your battery and your inline fuse on the power cable. And if you are checking that voltage by probing the ground wire at the amp with a DMM then double check your ground connections also. Again, the amp is not going to make your power wire show that low of voltage. You have a bad connection.

Your amp shutting down is not clipping. Clipping is when the audio signal starts producing a square wave and not a sine wave. A whole other issue. Your amp is shutting down because you are losing power in your power and or ground cables. Simple as that.

When the amp shuts down, you say you read 0.2 volts?  How are you reading this and at what point in the system?

when the amp is on and kicking the bass the power and remote read 12 volts an the ground reads properly as well. When the bass hits hard and the amp shuts off the power wire reads .2 volts an the remote wire and ground remain the same.

OK, if the voltage is dropping on the main power to 0.2 volts (with positive lead on power and negative lead on ground) then you are losing power completely on the line.  This is very unusual.  It could be that the amp is defective and shorting the power supply, but I would expect the power supply fuse to blow - you do have a fuse on the main power cable, between the amp and the battery, right?  How is the amp being powered?  You're not using a cap are you?  If so how is it wired?  A reading of 0.2 volts would normally indicate a blown power fuse, but it would be unusual for the fuse to reset and come back on... are you using a circuit breaker?  More information about your power setup would be appreciated.

if you have a fuse between the front battery and the back battery make sure there's power running to your back battery,, your back battery may be running low and making your amp to shut down. another thing you may wanna check its your alternator,, it may start to go bad and it may be charging at low amps..

I have a 200 amp fuse from the front battery leading to the back battery then from the back battery to the bass amp has a 200 amp fuse as well. everything coming from the back battery is fused.

While it is possible you have a fuse that is opening momentarily without blowing, it is extrememly rare.  You could try differnt fuses, but my guess is you have a defective amplifier.

while the car is running do youhave approximately 14.4 voltage reading to your rear battery? unless one battery is bad, or alt cannot keep up the proper current charge rate.
