I have a 2011 Ram 1500 Sport with the upgraded audio system, it has a stock amp and subwoofer. I am trying to hook up my alpine MRP-m500 and 10" type r. I bought the step down converter and tapped into the speaker lines. I can slightly feel the audio in the subwoofer when connected but no bass is actually being played.

Any idea what could be wrong. I've tried tapping for the line out converter at the head unit, front speakers, and rear speakers and have the same issue

If you connect only one RCA to the amp, does it have bass then?  If you connect only the other RCA jack, does it play then?

Yes, it seems to play fine if only one RCA is connected. What does that mean?

Actually, it seems as if there is too much bass when only one is plugged in, but when both RCAs are in there is none.

You have the Line out converter wired out of phase.  On only one channel of the converter, reverse the positive and negative wires.   Do this on only one channel.
