Right now I've got one 10" Rockford RF3410 in a sealed box I built to the specs given (.75 cubic feet for volume) it says for a ported to go to 1.0ft. I am adding another one of the same type and want to know if I should build seperate boxes (isolate each) or build one big box? Any volumes or other help is muchly appreciated.
If you want to stay with a sealed enclosure which is what I would recommend then I would build one box with (2) chambers each chamber having a volume of .75 cu/ft. You can use the 12 volts calculator to figure out the correct dimensions and volume of the enclosure https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#rec If you choose to go ported below are the specs and some instructions
Recommended Volume (Cubic feet) - 1.0
F3 (Hz) - 35
Number of Ports - 1
Port diameter (Inches) - 3
Port Length (Inches) - 13.25
What you will want to do is build 1 enclosure with 2 chambers each chamber has a volume of 1.0 cu ft and (1) port of 3 X 13.25 so your enclosure will be roughly 2 cu ft and have 2 chambers and 2 separate ports. You can use the 12 volts volume calculator to help find the correct dimensions and volume of your enclosure https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#rec
That's all I needed to know. Now where can I get ports or can make them?
Thanks
You can buy them from Radio Shack ETC and you cut them to size. You can also get 3 inch pipe and use that. Or you can construct your own square port out of mdf (this is the way I like to do it). I did some calculations and if you wanted to build a square port it would be 4.71" tall X 2' wide X 13.5 inches deep. If you want to know how I got those calcs just email I and I will explain it.
