Hi,
I need help determining what my amp can do. I am trying to get the most power out of my amp, so I was wondering if someone could tell me what kind of subs I need to buy. Whether it be Dual 2 ohms, Single 2 ohms, single 4 ohms or what.
I have a USA-2000
Specs say:
1000W @ 1ohm (per channel)
Amplifier Performance says
2000W @ 2 Ohms 115dB
Now, I am planning on getting 2 subwoofers. What ohm subwoofers do I need to get to achieve this 1000W per woofer? What are some choices?
I have found out the hard way that Dual 4 ohms will not work well with this amp. ha! That's why I need help.

I couldn't find any information via a quick search for that amp, but if it is in fact 2ohm stable bridged (OR 1ohm stable per channel) then you'll want x2 dual 2ohm subs.
Wire them like this (option 2, 2ohm load):

Very nice. Quick question. How many watts would my amp be pushing out if i had 2 Dual 4 ohm subs?

A little over half of what it would output had you used dual 2ohm subs.

If you want to actually test your amplifier's output, you will need some tools. Here's a good reference. Anything else is just guesswork. ------------- Support the12volt.com
