1996 chevy blazer, my first system

Hello 12volt forums! I'm happy to become part of the forums,
I'll start by introducing myself, my name is Anthony, I'm 20 years old, and I just recently started reading about car audio, in hopes of learning enough to install my own system.
I've read and read and read and none of it has gotten me anywhere.
I can't just read and learn, I need to experience things first hand, and be shown what they are, how they work, all that.
I've been taking advice from another forum and a few of my friends.

I'm going to be installing this into a 1996 Chevy Blazer (S10 style) 4DR, with that being said, this is what I've been provided with, since I can't learn by just reading or watching youtube videos, my dad and my friend are going to be installing the system that I end up buying, and with that, I'm hoping I'll learn something.
I'm going to have $800-1,500 to spend this time around.
I'll be needing 6 speakers total, for the doors and the dash.

This is the setup that was recommended to me:

Is there anything missing? Are the parts for the Big 3 upgrade included in this? I've looked it over and I can't tell.
I'll also be purchasing an Optima Yellow Top battery for this vehicle, as it needs a new one anyway, and I'm sure it can't hurt to get a nice battery for the setup.
As far as what I've gathered, I should have a 105 amp alternator.

Please let me know if I should consider an entirely different setup, especially brand wise.

Hi and welcome.  So it seems you are keeping the factory head unit?  I am happy you are considering the Big 3 upgrade and if the wire in that kit is long enough, sure use it.

Thanks! I forgot to mention I already have my hu, its a Pioneer DEH-P6200BT

everything looks fine except it seems that you dont need that distribution block because you are running two separate amp kits and you only have two amps in total. keeping everything as simple as possible will help keep your install neat and organized while making it less likely that something will break.

also if the optima battery will be your only battery in the car then you should buy the red top not the yellow top. red tops are designed to be a main battery and have more cranking power and the yellow tops are designed to be used as extra batteries.

the big 3 is simply an upgrade of your factory power wire. it replaces the ground from battery to chassis, from engine to chassis, and from your alternator to the battery. these wire are usually 8 gauge or less when stock and replacing them with bigger wire will help reduce excess strain on your electrical system when adding high power audio systems or accessories like big power inverters.

So basically, right now I have the Pioneer DEH-P6200BT, everything else is stock.
I'm going to be running 6 speakers total.
4 in the doors, powered by the amp listed, and the 2 dash running off the HU's RCA preouts. Should I do that or go with a 6 channel amp?
Also, should I go with say... 180w speakers in the doors rather than what's listed in OP?

What's the main differences between the yellow top and red top?

I don't know the differences between them.. sure I can read, but that doesn't really help me since I don't know what the difference between running X at Yohms and this or that, lol.

Dangit, I forgot about my question about the subs, I see some places making custom boxes, like SKAR audio, should I buy something like that over a pre built enclosure like the one listed or should I go another route? I don't have the skills or tools to build my own box.

if you are getting the rockford bass package that comes with a the subs already loaded into the box then i wouldnt worry about having a custom box made because the box it comes with is designed for those subs.

Did you look at the links I posted?
I'm just asking since I don't know if it's a good buy or not.
I'm lazy, I don't have the tools or skills required to build my own, I just want to know I'm not getting a piece of junk sub+enclosure, if I go with the RF one I linked..

yea that setup looks fine. i wont lie and tell you its the best stuff in the world but its not junk either. you should be just fine
