I recently installed a new head unit in my 2004 Grand Am w/ monsoon. After installing it I noticed a problem. The sound quality is much worse than before, when ever the volume is turned any higher than about half-way you start to hear a lot of static over the music that gets worse as the volume is turned up.
The HU is a jvc kd-s38
the harness is metra gmos04
based on what I've read online it might have something to do with the stock monsoon amp, but I couldnt find a clear answer.

did you adjust the potentiometer on the GMOS-04 for the audio. Sounds like you are sending distorted audio to the amp.
