Hello again.

I was playing with speakers at Best Buy and noticed that they had their "$200" West Coast Customs WCC650 speakers on super clearance, $25 for two 6.5" with 1" tweeters and crossovers... and they only had one new set and the display set left. They sounded good and the guy said he would sell me both sets for $38... I bit.

I took my Pioneer TS-G1643's out of the front doors and mounted the WCC's in there and mounted the tweeters on the side mirror adjuster covers. I have to say I am very happy with the sound and I am glad I bought them...

I took one of the tweeters from the second set and used it to replace the blown factory tweeter in my wife's 01 Camry with the JBL system.

Tomorrow I will try putting the second set of WCC's in the rear deck of my car.

$38 for upgrades/repairs for two cars... not bad.

Good feedback.

I found similar when a mate added cheap 6x9s and then decided to replace his 200x Commodore speakers with the same Audioline brand cheapies.
I was so impressed I replaced my 3-way 6" ~$165 Pioneers with $28 (RRP $35) Audiolines. (Alpine HU.)
Though different, I still cannot decide which is the better, though with a ~5:1 price ratio, I reckon I know what I will NOT be afraid to try next time.

Not that my experience is the same as a high-price mark down...

Incidentally, I just refitted my "blown faceplate" Alpine HU after trying 2 other cheap HUs over the past year. It's so nice having quality sound and performance again even if difficult remembering what else how many button pushes to select bass, treble, bal, fader etc. (I haven't reread the instructions yet.)
