Most of you should know about this already as it's old news but if not!

https://www.alpine-usa.com/company/press/general/ 2012/alpine-introduces-12-new-subwoofers-and-unified-sub-box-program/

Eagerly awaiting this gear in AUS!!!

I was wondering if anyone had the Thiele/Small electromechanical parameters for the Alpine SWR-12D2 in particular?

Thanks :-D

The only thing I can find on their website as a 12D2 is the SWS that DYohn posted a link to.

It's frustrating because I want to order them soon and in the 2-3weeks it takes to freight them here I could have the enclosure built :-(

Yeah, the SWR-12D2 is new for 2012. They are releasing a few DDin units to compete with(pricepoint). They will have a $599 DDin that they refer to as "Alpines Step-Brother"... But something like 6 new DDins... The power pack has a Universal Option now. I went to the Alpine Training. They have a new 8" monitor,as well, coming out. Check out the Fuses on the new Alpine Amps.

On your Crutchfield link click on "see more info about this item."  They offer some of the T'S specs as well as enclosure size recommendations.  I am surprised I don't find this on the official Alpine web site, however.

Check out the info for the new amps... 2-4 ohm load and what happens when 1ohm is introduced. They mentioned something about the enclosures across the board are similar(Cant remember exactly, will look at notes, but a type S will be the same as a type R enclosure...Hmmmmm). Also, Dont go any higher then the Type R's... Type X are a disappointment when compared to the Type R Specs... One guy at the training had just filled his car with Type X and the Rep said... "Sorry"... "At least you can pass it on to the Customer..."

Top Mount Depth (inches)      6 3/8
Bottom Mount Depth (inches)      7 3/16
Cutout Diameter or Length (inches)      10 7/8
Vas (liters)      46

Xmax (millimeters)      20

Overlooked that, Thanks!

sealed box volume: 0.75-1.00 cu. ft.

If anyone here was to buy these woofers would you go with manufacturer recommendations or make a custom enclosure with something like BassBox?

My current SWR-1043D's go well in .9Cu Ft each sealed, Nice Punch and ability to go low enough to flex my entire parcel shelf and steering wheel :-D Rear view mirror and side mirrors are already useless so suffice it to say they are not limited by this enclosure.

I'm Thinking 1.00 Cu Ft - 1.2 Cu Ft.
