I have a Kenwood DX719 that I am installing in my 2006 Corvette. The wiring harness for the HU has a wire labelled "mute" for muting the radio when a call comes in via BT.

Any idea what that is intended to connect to? The wiring diagram says something to the effect of "muting source" (I don't have the diagram in front of me right now). Any ideas? I was under the impression it would automatically mute with an incoming call.

Thanks

If you ground that wire, it will mute the deck.  Is that deck bluetooth ready?  Do you have the bluetooth module?

The deck is Bluetooth ready and built in, no external module required.

Is it Bluetooth Ready, or is it built in?  Ready means you need the BT module.  If it is built in, you do not need to use the mute wire.

you might need to hook it up if you have onstar, but only if the interface you are using has a mute wire too. if it doesnt then just cap it off and secure it with the rest of the wires.

Ok. Thanks. I do have the BT module installed and no onstar. I just capped it and left it alone.

Thanks again
