I have a 2010 dodge ram with the factory deck that has dvd, nav, etc. The speakers in truck are alpine with 9 speakers and a  8 inch sub. What i have in it now is a sub box port tuned to 40hz with an rockford punch p2d410 with an rockford fosgate punch amp - p300-1 (300watts) . Ok what i need to know is how do you wire it into the truck sterio with out tearing the dash all apart. Right now they just came of one of the channels on the radio and it just dont sound right. I was told to use the factory sub wires but when i talked to another person they said that the factory sub backs down when you turn it up so now im lost again. Im looking for some help on how to wire it and what else i need to install to make it sound better. I dont want to tear the whole truck  apart to do this. Just a note i did upgrade door speakers to a better speaker

If it has a factory sub, chances are the other speakers are crossed over so they only play mid-bass and higher frequencies.  You must get your signal from the factory sub.  It is the ONLY speaker that is playing the frequencies you want to send to your new equipment.

I was told you cant hook a amp up to the sub wires because there is a factory amp and it can burn up the new fosgate amp, just what they told
