Howdy I got a
2005 Chrysler Pacifca
I want to put a new HU(Sony Dsx200x) I think
and i got 2-12s and a 600watt amp i want to hook them up too.
I will keep the door speakers the way they are. Trying not to replace them just want to run them off the radio.

So far i believe I got the wire harness down no problemo.
Everything conncected got brown and orange taped off.
But, I got blue/white from radio connected to the amp for the sub and the blue wire form the car. This is prbobley the problem.

1.Only problems so far is no sound out of speakers
Prbobley cause I need to bypass amp

2. I need to know where there is a hole in the firewall or where to put one.

All in all I just want to have subs with my amp and run the stock radios with my HU can someone help me out????

Does your vehicle have an infinity system in it? Sounds like you may need to turn on the factory amp. Try switching to the radio and see if you have sound.

You used an Installation Harness?

you might end up rewiring the whole system. i installed a navi unit into a pacifica a few months ago and it gave me nothing but problems trying to get the sound to play. we tried 3 different wire harnesses, a normal harness, and two different data/amp integration harnesses and none worked 100%. the biggest problem was that no matter what we couldnt get any sound and couldnt find a way to turn the factory amp on.

the factory amp is in the very back under the floor panel on the passenger side i think. we ended up running wires to bypass the amp and everything worked.

also this was not an infinity system, it was just the regular system.

Yes I attempted I put the new radio in and then no sound came out. Should I cut the input and output wires from the amp and just connect them?

How can I turn the factory amp on? Is it my wire harness fault?
Anyway I can just get the door speakers to work with my HU I will be completely ok with it.

no dont jump the wires at the amp, just disconnect the output plug from the factory amp (this is the side with the speaker wires coming out of it)and run 4 new speaker wires directly from the back of the new radio to the speaker wires at the factory amp.

Will that work without any other modification? Do I need to do something with the harness if I run additional speaker wire?
Thanks for the help

no you dont have to do anything to the factory harness if you run new speaker wires to bypass the factory amp but you can still use the power wires in the harness to power the new radio.
