I am installing a Car Stereo in a 1990 Crown Vic. I refered to the info on the12volt.com.
The information they provide shows
Both the LF- and RF- as BlackWhite.
Both the LR- and RR+ as Pink/Blue
Since the OE has only 1 Pink/Blue and only one BlackWhite, do I
connect BOTH the LF- and RF- of the Stereo to the ONE OE Black White?
and Similarly do I
connect BOTH theLR- and RR+ to the ONE OE PinkBlue.
Also, it seems starnge to be connecting both a + and a - to the same OE wire.
Thanks!

Are there 8 wires on the car end of the plug? I am thinking that it was around that era that they stopped using common ground wiring, but were still using common ground decks. Is the BLACK/ white jumped to 4 different locations on the harness that comes out of the radio?
Do not proceed with this install until we figure out what you are dealing with. You may have to run a speaker wire from the radio to each speaker in the car.
either that or its the old amplified system that uses low level inputs. im not sure what ford branded its older amplified systems (ex: bose, infinity, alpine, or JBL) but you either have a common ground system or an amplified system. if you have an amplified system then there is actually an adapter that you can buy but if you have the common ground system then the easiest thing to do would be to run new speaker wires and ignore the factory wiring except for maybe power and ground.
