If the 02 has the same dash as an 02 Silverado, it can be done. Our normal labor rate to install a video screen is 75 dollars. We charge 200 dollars labor for this job.

you wont need any parts other than the wire harness and antenna adapter. the dash kit would be useless if it is the dash im thinking about thats a little smaller than a true 2din.

We do not use a kit either. I have heard of some using the 99-3002 kit. (Kit for the 02) But it is not needed. I was just giving you the prices earlier so you could guess how much cutting was needed to pull this off. You have to cut out behind the radio, as well as the bezel that covers the radio. You will also have to use a sheet of ABS plastic to make the panels to cover the left and right sides of the deck.

but if i buy the kit do i still need the abs????

I would think not, if you do use the kit, take some pictures for us.

not sure if you had any specific radio in mind yet but the install is way easier if you buy a radio with a 6.5" screen and non motorized. a radio with a smaller screen might not even need any cutting of the dash trim but you will still need to cut a good bit from behind the dash so the radio will sit level.

You still have to cut, even with a 5.8 inch screen. Not as much cutting as a motorized 7 inch.

I think it is a waste of 204 dollars. But that's just my opinion.

Because it does not even have a brand name. We will not take your money to install this piece. Most of the time they do not even make it out of the parking lot in working condition.

but you have $200 that you can just throw away for nothing? trust me, i didnt even have to look at the link but just hearing that it was a no name brand will make me agree with I am an Idiot. anyone who installs professionally will tell you the same exact thing. they dont last, they dont have warranty, they rarely work as advertised and if they do then its only for a little while.

you also dont need $600+ for a decent quality tv, $350 will get you a good tv

wow, i didnt realize you were talking about a nav unit, i thought you were talking about a basic tv. i got so curious i just had to pull up your link, $200 for a navigation unit with a motorized touchscreen, that just has bad idea written all over it. but now i know what you mean about spending 600-700 on a brand name tv.

"the most powerful GPS navi dvd player EVER" actually made me laugh. they do try to sell it like its top of the line and they did a good job making everything with big pictures and pretty colors, but the overall point is that certain things are supposed to cost money and that $200 will have you driving off of a cliff. those maps look horrible and those are the screen shots they used and they actual maps never look as good as the screen shots. so just imagine how they must look in real life.

it has no custom Equalizer and only 4 preset EQ options. not even bass mid and treble i would assume from the specs.

i will say that they do have some alright features like the icon configuration, assuming they work like they say it should.

and please dont think im just making fun of you, im really not, but im just trying to make a clear point about the horrors ive personally seen people go through when buying no-name electronics. a car is one of the worst possible places for any electronics because of the heat/cold, constant vibrations and dust, so when you dont buy quality stuff for your car its only a matter of time before things start to break.

If you do not have the money for a 6 or 700 dollar unit now, it will be even longer before you have it if you throw this 204 away.

I may have a few Oceanside Plots left in Arizona, if you're interested. I would even let 1 go for , oh, $200. Seriously, that is a huge gamble that will , most likely, never pay off. I would buy a used name brand or just keep saving. Used has its own wories, but better than the latter.

if you were interested, im actually doing a 2 Din install on an 03 silverado 2500 so i will post some pics of how i cut the dash for a JVC AV60BT. i cut the entire middle piece out and made the trim ring for the jvc sit even with where the bottom of that center bar would have been. then i traced and cut the shape of the top of the trim ring out of the top part of the dash so that the trim ring would sit flush with the dash. glued some flexible ABS in the gabs on each side and viola. i think it looks nice considering its a cut and paste operation but ill get the pics off of my phone you you guys can decide.

it may have been a 2002 model but i was told it was an 03. it was the radio with the side brackets that clip in without screws. anyway here are the promised pics.

i cut the hole in the trim the exact size of the radio trim ring so that i could make it sit flush with the dash. the cut is as close to perfect as it will ever get using a cutoff wheel and a dremmel but i used some sticky-backed foam strip on top just to eliminate any possible light gap. in addition to cutting the trim, i also had to cut out a metal brace and a bunch of plastic from behind the radio just so the new tv will fit. i used cheese strap to mount it using two factory screws, but i could have used the dash kit bracket clips if i had more time to get the spacing and angle the way it needed to be.
