I have 2 6.5" alpine speakers running through a memphis amp to an alpine head unit.
Both speakers are only putting out bass and I can't figure out why for the life of me. I have 2 kicker compvr subs hooked up through a separate pioneer amp and they work fine. So I have a bunch of bass and no sort of highs. I've tried switching speaker amps and I've messed with just about every setting possible. So basically what I want to know is if there is a problem with my head unit amp or if anyone has any sort of idea why this would be happening. Thanks.

What crossover settings are you using?

I'm not really sure. This setup has worked before which is why it confuses me so much.

It's posible the speakers are blown but it sounds to me like you have a low-pass filter activated somewhere.  Check the crossovers in the HU and on the amp.  You don't want any "LP" active for the mains.

Look on your amp for a switch that has 3 possible positions. They will probably be labeled HPF/LPF/FULL As DYohn already stated, make sure it is not in the LPF position.
