Help! I am replacing a Clarion AM/FM Radio in my 1979 Datsun 280ZX. The wiring diagram provided provided for my car does not align with what I have in my car.
In my car my radio has a 5 wire "plug in" and a 3 wire "plug in" in the back of the radio. Here is the breakdown of the color scheme for each of the wires":
1. BLACK/ Red Stripe
2. RED / Blue Stripe
3. BLACK/ White Stripe
4. WHITE/ Red Stripe
5. YELLOW /GREEN Stripe
1. BROWN / White Stripe
2. Green
3. GREEN/ Black Stripe
My Datsun was built in 12/78 and the radio is Clarion Model RP-408L. Can you help me to find what these wires go to?
Thanks!

I appreciate the post, but my wiring set is a bit different from what you have posted. My oem radio is not stereo, but is am/fm and I have a single speaker up front in the dash and two rear speakers behind the front seats.
I have two plug ins, the first has five wires with following colors:
1.BLACK/ Red Stripe
2. RED / Blue Stripe
3. BLACK/ White Stripe
4. WHITE/ Red Stripe
5. YELLOW /GREEN Stripe
The second plug in has the following colors:
1.BROWN / White Stripe
2. Green
3. GREEN/ Black Stripe
Unfortunately this configuration does not seem to line up with the configuration you posted. My radio is a Clarion RP-408L. Not sure how to proceed.

Go directly to the speakers and see what colors are connected to them.
Take a DMM and test sets of wires for, voltage and resistance.
