Well...After 7 years of abusive treatment,my Kicker amp finally laid down. It's still got a pulse, and with some help I believe it's worth saving.
No output to the sub.12vdc is available at the power lugs.12vdc is available at remote lug. Both 30 amp onboard ATC fuses are good and power flowing thru.Protection circuit LED is off and Power on LED is on.Amp cover has been removed to check for burned components, overheating and broken solder joints with none found.RCA's are putting signal to the amp.Sub-woofer and wiring checks good.I have not removed the heatsink clamps or tried to remove the boards,so inspection to the bottom of board was with inspection mirror and flashlight. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a relay mounted on the circuit board very near the speaker output terminals? A few seconds after the amp turns on, can you hear that relay click?
Have you checked your speakers and wiring to the speakers? Disconnect the speaker wire from the amp. Touch and hold the negative speaker wire to the Ground terminal of the amp, not the negative speaker terminal, but the ground connection by the Power and remote terminals. Then briefly touch the positive speaker wire to the power terminal of the amp. Does the speaker(s) make a sound?

Must be my lucky day...You helped me repair the Kicker 650.4 channel amp in my truck like....4 years ago? And remember the inverter with the bad rectifier in my race car trailer? Still workin' LIKE A NEW ONE!
Checked the sub and wiring first..All good. Yes,there's a relay at the speaker terminals, and I don't hear and audible click when the amp powers up.The relay is located below a companion board that has the RCA'S,amp strapping jacks, gain, freq and bass boost controls.Board is attached with 3 screws and has a 5 pin push-in connector.

There is a transistor that fails and keeps the relay from energizing. I will check with my friend to see if he has pictures of that amp and maybe we can remember where that transistor is located. I will check with him Thursday. Or if I get out in the storm tomorrow I will go by.

Yes Sir.....You stay out of harms way with that Hurricane. I've got pictures of the amp circuit boards if you need them.

Remind me again if you do not hear from me by Noon Sunday. Sorry.

There are several problems that could cause the relay not to energize. Most common is a bad solder joint on the relay itself. Can you remove the board from the heatsink and see if that is the case?

Removed the board and didn't find any obvious cracked solder joints on relay or anywhere else. I did resolder joints to relay and 10 others that were questionable. Still won't fire relay.

I read the e-mail he sent me and this is what it said.
The relays fail. The D-K part number PB-1132 works in this amp. Tell him to confirm that the relay is getting 12v to the coil before ordering the relay.
D-K = Digi-Key

With the amp unmounted from the heat sink, do not leave it powered up any longer than necessary. Have your meter set and leads ready to touch the contacts when you turn it on. 15 to 20 seconds max.

No 12vdc to coil of relay. Pulled relay and powered coil with AUX 12vdc power supply and coil latches.

Well....Oddly there's 12vdc available on the board where pos and neg pins go and I assume 12vdc flows thru from pos to common and then N/O? The N/C side of relay seems to be a dead pin on the board. I'm going to put the relay back in and recheck.

Common should be speaker output from output transistors. N/O should go to the speaker terminal of the amplifier. N/C has no connection. Jump the relay common to N/O and see if the amp plays.
I know that there is a surface mount transistor that fails. He does not remember which one it would be. I am going to his house this evening. I will look at his pictures and see if I can remember where it is.

Amp plays with relay jumped. Let me know if you determine which transistor it is. Excluding the one's on heatsinks,I only see 3 others. These are close to the relay and side by side in the board.
