I have a 2006 Ford Expedition Limited, with the Factory navigation, and factory sub. Apparently, there is no way to keep the factory sub when replacing the headunit. I call BS..

Anyone ever done anything like this? or encountered this? I am wanting to put a head unit in that actually has a useful navigation.

Thanks in advance.

metra harness part #70-5521 should do the trick to keep your factory sub. it says its for 03-05 ford vehicles but i think it will work. a 1.5k resistor needs to go inline on the remote wire so the sub doesnt pop when you turn the truck on.

That is for a vehicle WITHOUT factory nav.. Factory nav, has the oldschool BLACK/ grey plugs, with a bunch of other misc plugs that do not fit into those connectors in 70-5521. I have that actual kit in my car thinking the same as you :/

you could try to find the factory amp and hardwire the rcas into the signal wires to the amp, after than the only other thing to do would be to find out how to turn the amp on. that is basically what that plug does anyway.

can you post some pictures of the plugs behind the radio?

Thats the back of the radio. The right hand side is power/speakers, left hand side is gps antenna, cd changer, rear seat ent, and im assuming the sub. the plugs on the left, none plug into the kit that we had talked about earlier.

i meant the actual plugs. the subwoofer plug is probably the green plug.
