i,ve got one re audio 10" d4vc rated 600w rms 1200w peak. for power a focal solid 1 rated 300w @ 4ohms 470w @ 2 ohms. the enclosure will be sealed to conserve trunk space. is it possible to switch from 2ohms to 4ohms? will this enhance bass loudness? or am i better off just wiring 2ohms? i've read alot of posts and even was wondering about wiring 1 vc to a potentiometer for tuning but am limited with knowledge on how to wire one. is it powered? switchable for parrelleling voice coils. would really apreciate any help on this matter. thank you.

why would you want to run the sub as a 4 ohm load to the amp? do you understand that by doing that you will get less power from your amp. if the sub is a dual 4 ohm sub then wire the coils in parallel to make a 2 ohm load so that you will get the 470W from your amp. you will need all the power you can get from that amp because even having 470 watts will be under powering that sub which wants about 600 watts to be happy.

with that being said, under powering a sub isnt that bad and the missing 130 watts probably wont be noticeable to your ears.
