I want to get some good 1000 watt subwoofers. I want to get 12's for the house and 18's for the vehicle. some 4+4 DVC's.
For 12's I'm caught between the Cerwin Vega Stroker 124 and the RE SXX12D4. I'm leaning towards the Stroker. I plan on building oversized enclosures for the subwoofers that I pick. Two 6 cubic foot ported enclosures, one for each sub. Will be powering then with a 2000 watt pro audio amp when I can find a good 2000 watt rms one.
For 18's I'm caught between the PPI.PC18DS and the RE Audio SX18D4. And I have no idea what to pick. Leaning towards the PPI. I'm thinking of a 15 or 16 cubic foot enclosure for this pair. Maybe bigger.
- on an additional note I'll be putting the pair I pick with a pair of 15 inch L7's on a 4000-6000watt rms amp. Plan to find one that's 0.5 ohm stable. Maybe one of Lanzars biggest amps.
If I was rich I'd just buy a pair of all them and test them all out but... It's simply not the case.

i was actually going to recommend the RE SX before i read your post and realized that was one of your choices. ive had the SX18 in my cars for a long time and i have nothing but love for them. i used to sell the strokers at a different shop and i was not too impressed with their performance considering the price you pay for them. they are built well but thats about all the compliments i can give them.
i dont know about building the enclosure for the house but the 12sx works well in about 3 cubic feet ported and tuned to 30Hz. i have my 15sx in about 4.3 cubic feet ported and it sounds nice.

good to know soundnsecurity. yeah. I'm thinking pretty much just. the heavier the better. is how my mind works. when it comes to audio. and I am currently running a Klipsch 10 in a 6 cubic foot enclosure for gamming and just music. the Klipsch amp died and the box really sucked, so i put it in a box designed for my L7. on 120 watts. and its freaking loud for what it is... lol. so I'm sold on oversized enclosures.
