I would like to install a 7" tablet into my dash in place of a headunit, I have run into one snag though. My amplifier has a Remote Power On input and without a headunit I do not know how to have this function properly. I was looking at the small Clarion EQ I am going to be using and it also has a Remote Power on input.

-How can I connect the Remote Power On in my EQ and Amp without a headunit that has the remote output?

-Is it possible to connect these devices to automatically turn on/off at the same times a normal headunit would?

This is my first install, details are appreciated and pictures are even better!

Thanks! posted_image

You can use a switch of some sort, or you can connect the remote terminal to an Ignition or Accessory source.

Does it require a switch? I would like to run it to a switch like This if possible. So to clarify..

Will it be safe to have my accessory source go directly into the switch and then split the power to both the amp and the EQ remote turn on inputs? As seen in the attached picture. posted_image

if you use an accessory wire from the car then there is no need for a switch because the wire loses power when you turn the key off. unless you just want the switch anyway.

the only reason to have a switch is if you are using a constant power source.

what make model and year is your car and i can point you to which wire to use.

Yeah, I think I might still like to have the switch. I have a 2010 Tacoma.

Thanks again!
