is running 1 amp for 6.5" coax speakers (mids) and a separate amp for some tweeters a bad thing? im thinking of doing this to save money and reuse my old under rated MTX amp.

i was thinking of a ZX350.2 for 4 coax speakers and wiring them down to 2 ohm.

thoughts?

As long as you are using proper crossovers and not over-powering the tweeters, it's called bi-amping.

i found a Eclipse 34320 2 channel amp rated at 1150W that im going ot pick up for my mids and highs. it will run 4 6.5" alpines and 2 1" polk tweets so i wont need to separate the amps.
