I need to make a couple balanced lines with a 6 pin mini DIN male connector on one end and a standard size 5 pin DIN male connector on the other end. Purpose is for use with a Soundstream Balanced Line Transmitter and hooking it to an Orion 4100gx which uses standard 5 pin DIN female chassis mount jacks for the inputs. It does not have any RCAs for input jacks.

Is there any reason I can't use the Soundstream BLT with the Orion amp?

If not, then what I need to know is what type of cable to use and how many conductors the cable must have. I was thinking the BLT only would use 4 of the 6 terminals on the mini DIN and so I could buy some type of 4 conductor cable, but I don't know what cable to use with this project, so if anyone can help point me in a direction to find a cable on an on line electronics supply store, I would be much appreciative. Any other thoughts on this are also welcomed.

Thanks,

Mike
