I have a xs power D5100 agm power cell in the front and in the back I have a stinger sp1000 I usually break circuit and trickle charge them every other week. However idk if I'm using the correct settings on my charger. I using the Agm/Gel setting but should I be using the deep cycle setting instead? The options on the charger are as follows:
12v standard
12v deep cycle
12v agm/gel
6v standard
(Seperate setting)
2a trickle
12a fast
30a rapid

AGM/gel.
Deep is probably for wet cells and hence can go above 14.4V which will damage AGMs.
Unused batteries should be kept on trickle (provided it is a regulated "full time" charge - not a small simple transformer type that can go above 14.4V, and trickle charge should only be ~13.2-13.6V to prevent battery discharge).
And for AGMs, the lower the charge (and drain) current, the better.
Same too for wets, though occasionally wets need a high current or voltage recharge for reconditioning or "maintenance". Maybe too an occasional high-current discharge.
