Hi all:

Can I wire a variable L Pad after the crossover to reduce the power going to a tweeter?

Are there other options besides the L Pad?

Thanks,

Mike

First, a little lesson, and this is for informational purposes only...

An L-pad *IS* variable. Saying "variable L-pad" is like saying "VIN number" or "ATM machine".

Second, if you want a dedicated volume control for the tweeter only, then no, the L-pad is your choice. Make certain you choose one rated for the power and the impedance of your tweeter, i.e. 20W/4ohms.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I want to limit the power going to the tweeters. So they don't fry. I figure I could wire an L pad after the crossover and use it to attenuate the power.
