1x JBL GTA604
1x Alpine MRP-M500
1x Alpine Type R 12"
Pioneer DEH P3900MP

My JBL amp has a rear channel that is bad, so all four speakers are wired to the front 2 channels. It could be going bad, but more likely you damaged a speaker wire or connection when you took the door panels off - or you grounded out a speaker with the foil backing on the sound deadening material (if it has that.) Take them off again and see what you did.

Hmm.. It isn't that kind with the foil, and I didn't touch the speakers when I messed with it all, but it's worth checking out.

if the speaker terminals are very close to the metal door skin or something else made of metal then vibration might be causing the terminals to touch ground when you play or while you drive.
