If the crossover says
High pass 24db
Low pass 8db
What is this telling me? What I want to know is what hz or kHz is being passed to the highs and the mids
I am thinking about leaving the tweeters connected to the deck and these crossovers and running the 6.5" mids off the JL 360/4 and set the high pass at about 70hz
What do you think? Do I need to add a low pass also so I am not getting too high of frequencies thru them?

This is telling you that the tweeter is being protected by a steep crossover, likely because it is being operated fairly low, to prevent it from being damaged or overpowered. The woofer has a shallow low-pass which keeps it from operating too loudly too high, but allows it to gently roll off as frequency increases to better blend with the tweeter, especially in a (likely) car installation setup. Neither tells you anything about what frequency the crossover is operating at, and yes you need a low-pass for your woofer. Use the comp set with its crossover the way it was designed for best results. :)

ok, so imagine that someone (who shall remain nameless) ruined the compenent crossovers,

if I was to run some 6.5" what would be the highest level I would want to run through these ? 2500hz, 200hz>

It depends. What's the speaker? And what's the high-pass frequency for your tweeter?

Its a NICHE audio 6.5" but I am only trying to find out what the average high level cutoff should be on a 6.5

I mean its part of a component set so I know I dont want to feed the super high stuff through it,,,,,thats what the tweeters are for, so what bandpass level would be good?

80hz to 2500hz

100hz to 10000hz

what is a good rule of thumb ?

There is no good rule of thumb it really depends on the tweeter. The way it works is a tweeter can only play so low, usually somewhere between 1800 and 7000 Hz, and you choose a mid that can reach up to it without going into resonance. Most 2-way crossovers operate somewhere between about 2500 and 4000 Hz, but if you want to do it right you need to know where the tweeter Xover is set. I am not familiar with Niche, does the owner's manual include any details about the crossover? Can you send an email or call their customer service and ask them?

By the way, how did "someone" damage the crossovers?

And if the crossovers are damaged, what are you using for a crossover now?
