I'm installing an aftermarket radio in my 2003 Eddie Baur Ford Expedition (early model I think). I got the harness, instal kit and Steeering wheel control adapters, and hooked up. Finally got it working including the steering wheel control. The steering wheel control kit had me place a wire in the 14 pin position of the 20 pin car harness. Everything worked, so I reassembled. I tried the rear DVD afterwards and it loaded and ejected DVDs, but did not work otherwise. I'm thinking there were some other required wires on the 20 pin harness, but my instructions only had me using one. During the process, I cut the 6 pin wire. I've seen posts about wiring in a power line to maybe 5th pin (GREEN/ black) and connecting other pins to eachother, but am unsure. Any help getting my DVD working again is appreciated.

what is the exact problem you are having? does the screen display anything at all or is it totally blank. are you not getting audio from the dvd player? are you 100% sure the dvd player is factory and not an aftermarket unit that was dealer installed?

The DVD goes in the Player, you can hear it spin briefly. I thought I saw a flicker on the screen, but it does not come on (totally blank). No audio. Yes it is the factory DVD, same as in the Expedition owner's manual.

I remember something about those back in the day that they pulled power or something through the factory radio. I am also almost certain that the audio only goes through the radio and needs to be connected in a special way. Unfortunately I can't remember how to do it for sure.

I agree with Kenny. I have had to rewire one before but it was several years ago. I remember finding the diagrams on an owner (vehicle specific) forum. You may have more luck there. posted_image
