I just got my a Pioneer AVIC-X850BT into my car replacing my older model Pioneer AVIC-930BT. I am impressed, the radio runs a lot faster and smoother and the Bluetooth connects so much quicker. However, I have few questions for anyone that knows about this radio. I cannot get my I-pod to work. I used the older 30 pin plug that came with the 930bt and plugged it and every time I plug my I-pod in it says it is not recognized. I really do not want to buy another wire that costs 50$ (PIONEER CD-IU201N) again for this radio, does anyone know a way around it? It charges and the firmware is up to date. Also this radio is app compatible, however is that only for Iphone user because I have an android and if it doesnt work the Android logo on the box is very deceiving.

Unfortunately you are stuck buying either a universal pac audio ipod cable that will likely only be aux output and charging (no radio data control) which it sounds like you already have that using the wrong cable. CD-IU51V I am assuming is what you have now. Yes you will need to buy the PIONEER CD-IU201N for the X850BT. That is the cost of running aftermarket audio. They snake ya on price up front and don't tell ya you need additional $$ to make everything else work. Look on ebay etc you can find it far cheaper than $50 I am sure. Most of the apps should work through BT connection on the android device. posted_image

Yea I got it charging now and playing through AV1 however, I contacted pioneer and they said that my 2nd Gen (OLD SCHOOOL) Ipod nano isnt compatible only from 3rd Gen and up. Weird because it worked perfectly on my 930bt and the App Radio 2. So wth. Idk I think the App Radio 2 cord is the same once Bestbuy (the place of my employment) gets the AppRadio3 in I will hopefully just use the wire from the appradio2 off the floor display. ugh
