Noise from Sub

Hi, I have an 8" Bazooka Tube in the trunk, its been giving me noise problems for the past couple of months. Now, this doesn't happen ALL the time, sometimes, when I just really want to listen to the radio or CD.

When I turn on the head unit, say to the radio station, there is a constant loud noise coming from the tube, it doesn't go with the music, stays like that the whole time..after i mute the radio, and there is no music, the noise stays for like another 5 seconds then fades off, when i raise the volume again the noise comes back.

Today I was listening to the radio, it was fine, but when i turned it up louder, the noise was back, and it was constant, it didn't change with the music!!!

So what is it everyone...the head unit, or the tube. I've been told it's a bad ground, but I've check them, and changed them, and I'm positive it's not the ground wires, so don't mention it. All cabling is Monster including RCAs-which I've also been told is the problem.

Bottom line, what should I check before I go and pay $60 for someone else to look at it for me. If I am to replace the tube, it would be with another tube, or the Infinity Basslink Box (is that better than the Bazooka Tubes?)

spyder, does the sound still come through when you listen to cds, or just the radio? if it does i would first check the rca wires. do you have the rca wires ran down the same side of the car as the power? if so, that can cause 2 electrical fields to clash together wich can create noise. if that doesnt solve the problem, try taking out your radio and have it bench tested. places around here usually charge 5-10 bucks. there are many different things to check, but this is a few for ya. hope it works out.

yes, the sound is equally just as bad when listening to cds and the radio.  my RCAs are on the drivers side of the car, my power is being run on the passenger.  at first i thought it was because the RCAs were too close to the fuse box and a bunch of wiring in which i ran them under, but then i pulled them under the carpet away from that, and i thought that would take care of it, but that didn't end up happening and the noise is back. 

Can you give a complete list of your equipment with model #’s and a brief description of how it’s all wired?
