Just installed an Eclipse CD5442 cd player in my 97 Camaro with the monsoon system. Now i have a popping noise when i hit the preset station butons. I took out the eclipse and put the factory deck back in and the noise was gone.Any ideas?

Might be something wrong with the eclipse unit--try testing it in a reference system to see if the problem occurs then as well.

Took my friends alpine and hooked it up and it did the same thing. posted_image

I'm trying to remember if this vehicle has a separate tuning module similar to the way some cadillacs are hooked up.... Another thing to make sure of is that your antenna adapter is not defective or damaged--I know that's a long shot but it's something you might want to try just for the heck of it.
