ve any idea where I may be able to get a HO alternator( at least 180 amps), drop in, for a 2011 Mitsubishi lancer with 2.0 non turbo?? my mind is shot surfin and im to the point of getting a universal fit alternatyor and fabricating brackets, but want to avoid that if possible.

See if there is one from a Chrysler or Dodge built on a Mitsubishi platform that may have a higher amp alternator. You can rebuild your existing alternator to put out 180 amps, so you do not have to get a universal and fabricate brackets.

However, you may need your ECM reprogrammed to allow the higher current. Newer cars, it doesn't matter if you add a higher amp alternator, the ECM and BCMs control the current to the devices, even the charging amps to the battery.

In most cases, just adding the higher output alternator won't make a difference without the programming. You have to look into this, before plopping in a HO alternator.

With that sort of car contact Dave's DC Power in California. They do a lot of the demo cars for JL Audio, and for some of the TV Show cars they also specialize in V-drive belt cars.

there can be only one.......
