I added an alpine mrp-500 amp to a 2014 Impala and I noticed that on normal radio source the subs were not noticeable at all. I chased the problem for 15 mins before deciding to try the cd source and my phone as an aux in. The subs played normally as expected in all modes other than radio. The amp turn on wire is connected to the cig/accessory fuse #16 (or 6? don't remember) in the under dash (behind the storage pocket) fuse block. Amp is staying on in all modes correctly, and I am reading voltage being put out to the subs but obviously there is something in the radio settings causing the signal to be lower than in other sources.

In other news..I can not stand listening to titanium tweeters. So harsh! posted_image

i know some aftermarket radios allow different settings for each source so possibly there are separate sound settings for each source, so, dumb question but have you played with the settings? it may not be an eq setting but maybe some other setting...

Yes I had the same thought and in fact a Lot of the new GM radios remember bass/treble etc for each source independently. Unfortunately none of those settings nor the RDS options had any effect either. posted_image
