I have wired up a double din video deck using a ford wiring harness in a 2006 ford freestar .The deck is a no name deck.

I have connected all speakers , ground , battery, little light power(conected to dimmer wire) , acc wire.

I have not connected the key 1,can txd,( no stearing wheel controls),back, amp ( no amp), auto antana,(no power antana)

My problem is when I start the car the radio comes on and a picture shows on screen with a bar that shows it is loading but sporatically freezes, some times restarts continuously about every minute.

do I need to connect the key wire and the txd to somthing or possibly together or is there somthing else I may have missed?

thanks

You need to get a radio with a brand name on it. Preferably an Alpine, Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer or some brand like that.

Very wise words right there. There is a reason the name brand units cost more, it is because they have put time and money into research and product design. That is also the reason you generally don't have issues with these products. That and they have manuals that you can read, understand and are in actual ENGLISH!!

well, if you have a voltage meter you can use that yo test your power connections for the radio to see if you are losing power at all. if you dont find any problems with the voltage meter then i would assume the unit is defective.

The deck is made by someone, even if it's like huwang, huwei, (examples only, not real deck makers), or whatever... There should be a name and a model number somewhere to post. Remember, SAMSUNG used to be that no-name brand...

Ok no name  but I disconected all wires except for 12 volts constant ,ground, and accessory and system still reboots on its own.

Am I right in assuming the radio should turn on other than sound and maybe memory?

If you do have 12 volts on the Red and Yellow wires of the radio, and ground on the chassis of the radio, and it still restarts you have a defective radio.
