I drive a company truck, a Volvo, and it has a factory installed AM/FM/CD..... and sounds pretty decent for a fleet truck. It has aux and USB inputs, but the USB input and my iPhone do not get along at all.

In the past, the first thing I have done with company trucks is buy whatever I needed for a harness and ditch the OEM receiver for an aftermarket something that would work better for me.

I cannot do that with this one. The receiver is tied into the cab control module and has controls on the steering wheel, reads out on my in
dash display (as well as on the receiver itself), and it reacts to vehicle speed (adjusting volume levels, etc). In short... I am stuck with it.

It is a single din radio, however there is a "cubby hole" right below it that is also single din sized, and I could slip my trusty old Pioneer receiver into that space. The Pioneer and my iPhone get along great!

What I am wondering is, could I run from the aux out RCA plugs on the back of the Pioneer receiver to the aux in jack on the back of the Volvo receiver... AND not connect any load (speakers) to the outputs on the Pioneer receiver without burning the Pioneer up? I think the Pioneer is about a 40 watt per channel receiver.

Please advise

LOL - he's got my name!

IAAI is one of those typical modest experts - only remembers the mistakes, not the other 99.99(999...)% of brilliance.

Of course, it could be a clever legal ploy (just in case something bad happens in that 0.000...001% of cases).   


BTW - I agree with IAAI.
And even if I didn't, he'd be right. posted_image
