I need a pair of 3.5 or 4 inch speakers that have their own crossovers.  The infinity kappas have them, but I was wondering if there are any other companies that do crossovers built into the speaker.

Almost all coaxial speakers have their own built in Crossover. You mostly find external X-overs on component sets. Are you looking coaxial’s or a component set?

I'm looking at coax.  Specifically, I was looking at Infinity Reference vs Kappa.  The kappas have an outboard crossover, whereas the references don't.  I was initially wondering if any other companies put out speakers with outboard crossovers, but since it turns out most speakers have a crossover I wonder what the crossovers on the kappas are and how they are different?

Anybody out there who can answer me?  If most speakers have their own crossover, then what is different about those outboard crossovers I see on Infinity Kappas?

They are 2 different speakers; the kappa’s are rated at a higher wattage and can go to a lower frequency than the Reference can. It’s like the difference between a Honda civic and a Honda Accord. Also on some Outboard Xovers they have additional adjustments to adjust the high and low frequencies.
