hello everyone new to the forum and really looking forward to all the combined knowledge that only this forum can bring to those who seek it.

Welcome to the forum. That looks like a battery isolator. It is used to allow a second battery to operate the audio system without affecting the car's battery.

And it's a diode type isolator...
It may be cheaper using a relay type isolator unless you have a Sense circuit/wire from the alternator's voltage regulator to the battery, but then the 2nd battery can be over or undercharged.
