Hello All, New to the site, and it looks like everyone here has much knowledge on everything.

Here's my dilemma. I have a 2014 Ram C/V Journeyman (Basically a stripped down Dodge Grand Caravan). It came with no rear speakers. However I would like to put some in. I found the speaker connector on the rear quarter panel but either it needs the factory amp or there are small amps on the back of each speaker. Whats weird is I have 5v to ground across the wires. I tried hooking a speaker up, however I have no audio. The other issue I found was my radio (RES) has no fade function.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this? Does the radio need to be programmed to output the "Rear" audio signal. I was a Dodge technician for many years, however I got out of the field around the time the StarScan came out. Any schematics, pinouts or locations for connectors or where the amp should be would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to not replace the factory radio, just add some more sound.

Thanks,
Jon

It is normal to read 1/2V from a speaker wire to ground. There is a good chance that those are the speaker wires and the radio has an output chip, but does not have the electronics in it to provide audio to the chips. You will probably have to change the deck out to get rear speakers.

To verify that they are the speaker wires, turn the radio off and if the 6 volts goes away, they are speaker wires.
