I recently attempted to install a JVX Cassette Receiver into my Ford Escort but after removing the old radio and viewing the wires,  I became confused.  I looked at the install bay for the escort's wiring color scheme and the colors don't seem to match.  I have a black, green, blue/red, blue/black and blue.  Can someone please tell me why this is.??  THank you!

Was the previous radio the Ford factory radio or was it an aftermarket player ? Make sure that there isn't a harness that is attached to the factory harness as well.

I have the exact same problem.  The radio is factory with no harness (that I can see) and there are 5 wires but 7 leads on the radio.  Please help!

Hi golunnova, the factory radio in your vehicle is/was a common ground radio and you'll need to run two wires from each speaker  to your new head unit for it to operate properly.
