stereo static??

i just installed a new car stereo, when the car ingine is off the stereo and cd player work great however when the car is turned on i receive a lot of static in the speakers?? please help me fix this major problem its driving me crazy

Sounds like you most likely have either a bad ground connection or a speaker wire is shorted out to the car. First step is to make sure your head unit and any amps are properly grounded.

What did you install, and into what kind of car?
