In getting reacquainted with the industry and how much it's changed in the past 10 years since I've been looking now for the last week, I'm posting my general idea of top down in 3 groups: Audiophile, Good to Great and 'Meh'.
Of course different levels from each overlap each other in SQ, so it's not meant to be taken verbatim, but dollar per watt (generally more watts per dollar means way less SQ ie - ghetto machine), reviews, user feedback/reviews, and what suppliers push things en masse etc. (Crutchfield) . That's how I got my take on it.
Not to offend anyone that swears by their Phoenix etc. as we all have strong opinions and a lot of it comes down to listening preference and what you're looking for.
Anyone think this is fairly accurate or I missed anything?

You could add Arc Audio to the middle tier, Mosconi and Gladen to the top tier.

New Testament Soundstream btw isn't what it once was. You may consider including pre-2002 Soundstream to that top tier

yea soundstream should be in the middle but they make so many different amps that they pretty much have something for every tier. diamond audio makes some pretty nice amps. also you should specify which phoenix you are talking about because phoenix gold is still pretty good from what i understand but phoenix digital is straight junk.
