Customer brings in 2004 touareg with only rear speakers and center channel working.
We bypass amp for new fronts, add new radio also. Now no rear speakers.
Any ideas?
Does the amp have to 'see' a load on the front channels to turn on the rears?

I am showing the factory amp is turned on via CAN-BUS (data). Did you use a CAN-BUS module when installing the new radio? You will have to use a data module to turn the amp on, or put the old radio back in, or replace and bypass the rear speakers as well with your current setup.

Note that the lack of a data module for the radio (or the radio itself) on the CAN-BUS network may throw soft check engine light codes (codes but no light on), and can interfere with scan tools in the future.

I JUST did one of these last week and the one I had in I ended up bypassing the amp all together because not only could I not trigger the amp but also could find no wiring schematic that would let me feed input into the amp, so I just rewired the whole damn thing and called it a day.
