I have to replace the original BOSE head unit from my 2005 pathfinder.
Is there a special wiring adaptor needed to complete this install.

basically I would like to replace just the head unit and keep everything else.

thanks

Here's a list of radio/amplifier integration harnesses for the 2005 Pathfinder.

A Metra 70-7551 will allow you to use the existing Bose amplifier.

I was also reading that using that 70-7551 can give you popping noise when turning on and off the radio.

looks like the company PAC has 4 line level outputs, this option can reduce or eliminate that popping noise.

I will have to keep reading.

thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Use the 70-7550 non amplified harness. Works every time. I have a 7551 on my shelf but it is only to sell to people that insist on using it. There is never enough level to max the amplifier out. I use the 7550 on a Bose system at least once a week.

so you say use the 7550 with any aftermarket radio. match up the colors between the aftermarket radio harness and 7550 and everything will work fine? even on BOSE premium sound system? Even if the aftermarket radio only powers out 45w X 4

Yes that is what I am saying. And by the way, it is mathematically impossible to get 45 watts per channel out of any aftermarket radio. 17.5 watts is a more realistic and accurate number. Check the specs on an Alpine radio.

ok 1 quick question.

my customer with the pathfinder bose radio wants to order on ebay, the in dash screen, GPS, radio, dvd player. all in one. because it looks OEM

on ebay, this is the title : In Dash Car DVD Player Stereo for NISSAN PATHFINDER 2005-2010 GPS

its the one that says A8 Chipset. 439$

if I install the 70-7550 or the 70-7551 with that radio. Will this work?

I don't want to order this radio and get stuck with it

I assure you the 70-7550 will work for you. But I would not touch that radio with a 10 ft. pole.

Alpine, Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood, Etc.   All of their video screens will support a backup camera.

The Pioneer AVIC-5000NEX retails for under 800 dollars. Of course it does not do all that the one you posted does, but it will be working next month.
