I am very much a newb when it comes to this ohm stuff and I would like to get the most out of my system.

I want to purchase the Infinity 1260w Reference Series 12" 4-ohm subwoofer, when are single voice coil. I want to have 2 of these running on a class d mono amplifier in a series formation. Any idea what amp would be good for this?

This is the power range of the speaker:

  • power range: 100-300 watts RMS (1,200 watts peak power)
  • Any help is appreciated. thanks..

Series will yield an 8 ohm load. Parallel will yield a 2 ohm load. You need to find an amp that will produce 600 watts into whichever load you decide to wire them.

Thanks so much, one more question. When I look at amps on amazon, it doesnt say what the RMS would be at any ohm load. Say im looking at a pioneer amp, and it just says 500 RMS, how would i figure out what the RMS would be at a 8 ohm load?

Give me the 1 ohm, 2 ohm and 4 ohm ratings of the amplifiers in question.
