I have a 1986 Mazda 323 and I was wondering how I would go about setting up my amp so that it comes on ONLY when in the "ON" position (NOT "acc", but where the key is after starting the vehicle) Would I need a relay, or could try to find a power wire to something that comes on with the key in the "on" position, i.e. climate control system. Is it possibile to put the wire in a fuse socket that is only active when the key is in the "ON" position? Please help me out. Thankx in advance.

you could tap into the fuse box just find any power source that does what you want i would probably just run it direct the only drawback is that the amp would turn on wenever the key was in the on possition even if the stereo was off but any 12v source will work there are also wires in the ignition harness below the stearing collum that do the same thing i believe on that model they are black and white and another black and red (test them first)

I am not sure if there is a wire for which you are looking for.  You might just want to try hooking up the turn-on lead to a switch so you can turn your amp on whenever you choose.

I would rather not have the whole switch deal. I dont mind having the amp on even if the stereo is off. So, I can just plug a wire into a switched fuse with the fuse plugged into it at the same time? How would I go about doing this? I need details...

they make small fuse taps i think you can ge them at schucs or somewhere simmilar they just slip over the fuse blade and give you a spade terminal right off the fuse good luck caveyman could be right though do your tests first before you spend time and money tracking down the fuse taps..

Uhh... All that you would have to do is hook the turn on lead to a true ignition wire( wire that only has power when the key is in the run/on and start positions). For your car the wire is Blue and is located in the ignition harness.
