Where is our beloved 12volt.com? Where are all the braintrusts that used to lurk these hallowed halls? Dave? Dan? Did we ever find out what REALLY happened to Bob? Rob? You still making the rounds? Stevdart? Where have all the good guys gone? I see IAAI is still here... That's good. One of the finest members we've ever had, IMHO. Oldspark fits that category, as well.

I wish I had more time, but every time I swing by, all I feel is the overwhelming emptiness. Miss you guys! Happy upcoming holiday to all the old members.

While I'm here, what's happened to Thilo? Is TCSounds back in business or not? What's become of Dan Wiggins? Did he ever recover from his terrible misfortune?

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Not forgetting Howard!
But I thank you for including me, tho I am strictly "12V" stuff (batteries, alternators, circuits) - I leave the alarms & remote starters & vehicle specifics to the experts.
And re experts, I have been impressed by the (relative) new guard - those newbies that seem to have sprung out of nowhere but are anything but noobs. They too impress me, and as some know, I am rarely impressed by 'experts' and VERY rarely impressed with web advice. (Some know my opinion/experience re the exponentially declining ratio of good/correct web info.)

I for one can't wait till IAAI departs - I still want his name! posted_image
And Howard still blows awes me with his specific knowledge & experience to wire-color level.

Maybe the braintrusts feel its time to 'hand over to the young ones' (to quote The Cars That Ate Paris LOL). That is good business practice & hopefully they are still watching to correct errors.
Otherwise maybe they are more involved in the real world - I've heard that such a place exists.

Whatever, I feel the12volt still has an amazingly broad reputation even in this facebook age and more importantly, lacks the bullsh of so many other forums. It succinctly solves many questions.
FWIW, excluding a few select car sites, the12volt is the only public web forum I contribute to. I gradually dropped others for negative characteristic reasons - tho even they often referred to the12volt.

But I wish all contributors well.
And I too miss them.

Depending on which Bob you mean... I am sure you heard the fate of the person who built your custom doors? Rob sold his shop up in BC and last I heard he was on his way to join the RCMP. Dan Wiggins was head audio engineer for Microsoft for a few years and is now chief transducer designer for Sonos and has several other ventures going on the side. Me, I'm semi-retired to Arizona now but still pop on here to stop fights and step on misinformation once in a while. posted_image

I did indeed train as an RCMP Aux Constable but my hearing is far from ideal, it was best to not continue on that path. My spectacular wife Tracy and I bought a business near Calgary Alberta and move mountains of snow, mow acres of grass and operate a commercial shipping business across North America (shipping wars style). I have been in Arizona 4 times in the last month but zero time for anything. Headed there again in the next 2 days to Goodyear, Phoenix and Tuscon.

I still pop in and see Jeff (velocity) as often as my routing allows.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
