I have a 2008 Cadillac CTS with a radio problem.

Radio powers up, but no sound. I also know that the flashers + key chime are supposed to play through the speakers. I don't get nothing.

I have a feeling its the OEM amp.

First I have to locate it and then I have to check if there is power going to the amp.

can anyone inform me on the location of the amp and if there is a fuse to check in a certain location?

Check for any water leaks that can destroy the amp. Depending on the options of your car, the amp will turn on with a 12 volt trigger (white wire 3rd connector pin 8). Battery is red wire in pin 5 of first connector. If no white wire is present then your amp turns on through data. You will need a GM Tscan tool to check that data bus is working. The best place to start is at the amp. You can check for audio in and power connections.
