I recently bought a 1990  thunderbird LX coupe w/premium sound. Installed in the car already is a kdc-7009 reciever. The wiring has been boogered as usually is. All the connections appear to be sound from what I can tell from the wiring diagrams for the car. My Problem is i can get nothing from the unit. I turn on the ignition, The face opens, display lights up as far as the back light. The unit will not turn on. From what the previous owner tells me, the unit does work. The battery has been out for some time as the motor was blown. Is there any special tricks to this deck. I couldnt see anything other than the reset button in the manual. Already tried that. With the face closed i can open it by prssing the "sensitive spot" but i can not get it to close w/o turning of the ignition. If any one knows anything that would help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Matt

If I can remember right that unit has no code. If you look in the manual it dose not say anything about a lock or a code, am I correct?

It says there is a code function, but it is a general manual that covers 3 decks. It says that if the battery is removed or the reset button is pressed, it will say code on the display. the unit is just blank.
