Are you putting the 4 ohm in place of the 6 ohm? Or are you adding the 4 ohm as a second driver?

The 4 ohm will be louder than the 6. As long as they are in separate chambers of your enclosure they will be fine. Just connect both positive speaker terminals to the positive terminal of the amplifier, and connect both speaker negatives to the negative terminal of the amplifier.

Well before i got a reply....i wired the positives to eachother and negative to eachother than stepped it down to a 1 ohm setup....is that to much for my hifonics brutus 1200 mono

You could not have set it up at 1 ohm. A 6 and a 4 ohm coil paralleled = 2.4 ohms.

Ok well i watched a video on how to wire them up... so what are the then...duel coil pos to pos neg to neg..connected pos to pos from each speaker and neg to neg from each speaker...to bridged amp....what would they be then?

I noticed no reference to a dual voice coil driver. Which one is a dual voice coil?

That would be a 1.2 ohm load.

It's like having a boat with two props that are totally different sizes and pitches. Yes, it will function but not well or efficiently. Get ride of one of the subs for an exact match.

It will work, just put the subs in seperate chambers. It wont sound as good as 2 subs of the same impedance, but it will work and probably sound pretty good. I would be careful, those amps are pretty dirty and can send out nasty power. be gentle.
