If I order non polarized capactictors and make my own bass blockers what voltage rating do I want? I plan on using them for aftermarket tweeters, 3.5'', and 4'' off a aftermarket radio (20 watts). How do I calculate the wattage that can travel through the capacitor based on the voltage rating of the cap?
------------- I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage

Get at least 50 volt capacitors. The voltage of the capacitor has nothing to do with the wattage allowed through the cap.
If using on an amplifier get 100v devices.

If the voltage has nothing to do with the wattage going through the capacitor then why would you use a 50 V capacitor for non-amplified and 100 V capacitor for amplified.
I guess I'm looking for the theory behind this not a luck of the draw through personal experience

The capacitor has to handle the voltage of your source. I have seen many failures of 50 volt capacitors on even small amplifiers.
