Hey all!

It's been a while since my last visit. I wanted to share some info on something I tinkered with and seems to be work. I don't know if anyone has tried this, but if you wanted to power up a can-bus radio to bench test, you would need a Can high-low signal from a device in order for the unit to boot up. I simply used an Axxess ASWC-1 interface used as a can switch signal to power up my VW factory radio. It should be the same with any Can signal unit from any car make. Have fun.

Nice find!
Would it be too much trouble to ask you for a simple diagram of how you achieved this?

Ok, so the wiring is simple. Essentially, you'll just need 4 wires from the ASWC-1....

red       (12 volt)
black     (ground)
pink      (can high)
pink/blue (can low)

The last 2 wires may be reversed if it doesn't detect. You will need to locate the can wires coming out of the radio your're working with. Mine happens to be a VW but you can cross reference the pin-out from Axxess website for the specific car. Hope that helps!
